You probably already know that I L O V E to BAKE – I always get the BEST results when using good quality products in my sweet treats. Here are a few of my favorite Baking Essentials I’m giving away to some very lucky readers! 🙂
1. Old Fashioned Rolled Oats (Gluten Free)
I loooooooove oats. They are my favorite nutritious start to the day and probably one of my favorite ingredients to bake with. I love leaving them whole in baked goods or grinding them up in my blender into a fine oat flour! Oats are the main ingredient used in my Chocolate Chunk Coconut Oat Banana Bread, Chocolate Chip Banana Oat Pancakes and my Pumpkin Oat Blender Pancakes.
I use Light Spelt Flour in 99% of my baking recipes instead of regular All Purpose Flour. You can usually get away with subbing it one for one with regular flour in most baking recipes. It is an ancient grain and less processed than regular white AP flour giving a great nutritional kick to your baked goods! A lot of people who have sensitivities towards regular wheat flour can still consume Spelt Flour because it is more easily digestible. It’s the flour used in my Maple Pecan Pumpkin Crumble Bread, Oil Free Chocolate Cake and Healthy Vegan Carrot Cake.
3. Natural Almond Meal (Gluten Free)
I love baking with Natural Almond Meal because it is retains all the nutrition contained in whole almonds – it is basically almonds ground up into a super fine meal (or flour) and works magic in baked goods. It’s the magic ingredient behind my Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Bars and Grain Free Double Chocolate Cookies!
4. Ground Flaxseed Meal (Gluten Free)
Flaxseed meal is the basis of most of my baking recipes. It is an egg replacing staple in the plant-based kitchen! Even if you are not vegan, flaxseeds are simply amazing for you. They make a wonderful companion to most desserts and smoothies – filled with healthy fats, omega 3s, antioxidants and fiber. I don’t have enough good things to say about this wonderful seed! Flaxeed meal is used in my Vegan Chocolate Chunk Cookies, Flourless Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies, Chocolate Chip Quick Bread and in my most popular recipe – Vegan Banana Oat Bread (with FIVE bananas)!
